WinterWood

WinterWood is a vacation lodge located on a private island in Hillsdale County Michigan just outside of the small town of Reading. It is a beautiful three bedroom home surrounded by a chain of small fishing lakes: Turner, Mead and Ribeck. Winter Wood is one of only three residences on the Island. The other two are used occasionally on weekends.

As you leave your car under the car port and walk across the 250 foot wooden foot bridge to the island you leave the world behind. You are surrounded by TOTAL solitude. The neighbors on the land side are the nicest people. Almost all have located there because of the fishing and peaceful solitude.

The fishing is GREAT. You have a small private dock at your disposal. There are small and large mouth bass, bluegills, all kinds of pan fish, perch, catfish, bullheads, and many more. Ice fishing during the winter is fantastic! Great grey herons lazily wait in the marsh areas during the summer. One year we even had swans.
